Introduction

The SpotZero field service bulletins define what is actually in the field — which components have been replaced, which procedures have changed, and which parts are no longer available. This chapter covers the bulletin stack, the solenoid valve swap, and the external membrane shipping change.

Why it matters: the original installation manual does not tell you the current configuration. The bulletins do. Service the configuration that is in the field, not the one that shipped.

02

The SpotZero bulletin stack

The key bulletins: IB 24002 through 24007, covering the BPR assembly update, the Recycle Flow Controller change, and the solenoid valve swap (PF-EV0028). The PF-QC0075 is the Quick Oil Fill procedure for the high-pressure pump.

Before you service a SpotZero system, read the bulletins for that model. The parts and procedures in the field may be different from the original installation manual.

03

The solenoid valve swap: why it matters

The motorized ball valve in early SpotZero systems was a known failure point — it would stick, lose power, or fail to open, cutting off the recycle flow and starving the membrane. The PF-EV0028 solenoid valve is the replacement: electrically actuated, more reliable, and easier to service.

If the valve is sticking or failing, the correct repair is to replace it with the PF-EV0028, not to adjust or clean the old valve. This is a bulletin-driven change.

04

The external membrane shipping change

Earlier SpotZero systems shipped the membrane inside the main housing. The current configuration ships the membrane as a separate, external component. This changes the service procedure: the membrane is now a field-replaceable component that does not require disassembly of the main unit.

The line to remember

Remember this line: an internal membrane requires a full unit teardown; an external membrane

The line to remember

is a swap. Check the configuration before you start.
